Buying a VR gift is easy to get wrong. Not because the gear is bad, but because half of it only works with one specific headset, and most gift guides never mention that. This one starts there. Below you'll find real VR gifts at every price from $4 to $150, sorted by budget and by the kind of player you're shopping for, and a straight answer on what to skip.
One more thing worth knowing before you spend: headsets got more expensive in 2026. Meta raised Quest prices across the board in April, and Valve's new Steam Frame starts north of a thousand dollars. That has changed what a good VR gift looks like. For most people on your list, the smart move this year isn't buying them a new headset it's making the one they already own dramatically better for a fraction of the price.

Start here: which headset do they own?
This is the one question that decides everything. VR accessories are not universal. A controller mount cut for Quest 3 controllers will not hold Quest 3S controllers. A PSVR2 setup shares almost nothing with a Quest setup. If you only learn one thing from this guide, learn this: find out which headset they have before you buy anything that touches the controllers.
Ways to find out without ruining the surprise:
- Look at the box or the headset itself, the model name is printed on it.
- Ask them to send you a photo of their setup "for a meme." Works more often than it should.
- Check their purchase history if you share an account or a household.
- Ask a friend who plays with them online.
Once you know, everything below gets simple. Every Olen VR gunstock is ordered with the headset selected at checkout, so the right controller mounts come in the box automatically. If you are weighing up the stocks themselves rather than the price brackets, our VR gunstock buying guide compares all ten models with current prices and a full headset compatibility table.

Best VR gifts under $30
The best VR gift under $30 is a set of controller mounts or a sling, something they'll use every session and would never buy themselves. This bracket is where stocking stuffers live, and VR is unusually good at it because small parts make a real difference.
| Gift | Price | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| VR gunstock weapon charms | From $4 | Anyone who already owns a stock |
| Slip Grips for The Asset | $7.99 | Sweaty-hands players |
| 2-point bungee sling for SPINE | $8.99 | SPINE owners |
| 2-point g-stock sling | $16.99 | Extraction shooter players |
| SPINE gunstock stand | $18.99 | Anyone with a tidy setup |
| VR gunstock controller mounts | $21.99 | Replacing or adding a second set |
| The Asset Solo Edition | $24.99 | Their first stock, minimal bulk |
| AMVR Quest 3 controller grips | $24.99 | Anyone who has thrown a controller |
Our pick in this bracket: The Asset Solo Edition at $24.99. It's a single-hand stock that adds four inches of adjustable length and real shoulder contact without the bulk of a full rifle stock, and it's the cheapest honest entry point into stocked VR shooting we sell. Pick their headset and trigger hand at checkout.
Best VR gifts under $60
Under $60 is where a gift stops being an add-on and starts changing how they play. A full gunstock lands in this range, and so do the comfort upgrades that keep long sessions from ending early.
- The Asset VR gunstock, $57.99. Our modular two-handed stock, available in Onyx or Ghost. It ships with the controller mounts for their headset, which matters more than it sounds. Several competing stocks sell those separately. Headset options cover Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, PSVR2 and Pimax Crystal.
- The Asset STKR Edition, $31.99. A lighter configuration for players who want a stock they can drop and re-grip fast.
- Anti-slip controller straps (Quest 3 & 3S), $29.99. Unglamorous, constantly used.
- Quest 3 fast-charge battery two-pack, $47.99. Solves the single most common complaint about standalone VR.
- Quest 3 carrying backpack, $49.99. For the player who takes their headset to friends' houses.
- ZyberVR Quest 3 head strap, $46.99. The stock Quest strap is the first thing most people replace.
Best VR gifts under $100
This is the bracket where you can hand someone a complete setup in one box, which is what most gift-givers actually want. No follow-up purchases, no "wait, I need mounts too" conversation on Christmas morning.
| Gift | Price | What's in the box |
|---|---|---|
| LoPRO VR gunstock | $76 | Stock, magnetic mounts, optional bungee sling |
| SPINE VR gunstock | From $81.99 | Stock, magnetic mounts, sizes 24" / 26" / 28" |
| LoPRO Extended Edition | $86 | Longer reach for taller players |
| The Asset Starter Pack (Quest 3 / 3S) | $97.99 | Stock, mounts, leather controller straps, convertible 1&2-point tactical sling |
| SPINE Essential Pack (Quest 3S) | $99.99 | SPINE, Quest 3S mounts, AMVR knuckle straps, bungee sling |
| KIWI RGB charging dock (Quest 3) | $81.99 | Dock, batteries; headset always charged |
| Yoges VR golf club (Quest 3) | $42.99 | Adjustable weight and length |
The single best gift in this guide, if you want one recommendation: The Asset Starter Pack at $97.99. It exists specifically because "gunstock plus the parts you actually need" was the thing people kept assembling by hand. Stock, the correct controller mounts for their Quest 3 or 3S, leather controller straps, and a sling that works as either single-point or two-point. Nothing else to buy.

Best VR gifts over $100
Above $100 you're buying either audio, power, or a fully modded rig. These are the gifts people remember.
- VAIL Edition Asset, SBS STKR modded, $105. A pre-modded competitive build, already assembled.
- Logitech G PRO VR gaming headset, $114.99. Built for Quest; positional audio in a VR shooter is genuinely an advantage, not a luxury.
- BOBOVR S3 Pro battery strap (Quest 3), $125.99. Comfort and runtime in one part. If they play in multi-hour stretches, this is the upgrade.
- ASUS ROG Cetra Quest 3 headphones, $139.99.
- FTJ foregrip MOD, $84. Pairs with a stock they already own, or the CRIG harness at $37.99 and the VCTR cheek rest at $23.99. This is the move if they already have an Asset and you want to upgrade what they've got rather than duplicate it.
Gifts by who you're shopping for
The competitive FPS player
They play Pavlov, Breachers or Contractors Showdown and they care about consistency more than comfort. Get them a stock that holds zero under recoil-free but aggressive movement: The Asset SBS STKR Edition at $71.99, or add the STKR MOD at $9 to the stock they own.
The extraction shooter obsessive
Ghosts of Tabor players run long raids and swap weapons constantly, so the sling matters as much as the stock. Pair The Asset with the Warbull two-point sling at $24.99. We wrote a longer breakdown in our Ghosts of Tabor gunstock guide.
Someone who just got their first headset
Don't start them with the most complex thing you can find. A Solo Edition at $24.99 or the Starter Pack at $97.99 both work, and every Olen VR stock has a setup video on our YouTube channel so they're not decoding instructions on Christmas morning.
The one who plays until the battery dies
Power and comfort, not more gear. The BOBOVR S3 Pro strap, the fast-charge battery two-pack, or the JSAUX wearable neck battery at $94.99.
The VR golfer
A genuinely underserved category. The Yoges adjustable club for Quest 3 at $42.99 fixes the weight distribution problem that makes VR golf feel like swinging a TV remote. More on that in our VR golf realism guide.
The person who already owns everything
Charms. Seriously. A $4 weapon charm hanging off a rig they built themselves lands better than another accessory they'll put in a drawer. Or a gift card in $25, $50 or $100 and let them pick.
Games worth pairing with the gift
A stock is only as good as what they play with it. If you're gifting hardware, pointing them at the right game doubles the value. These are the titles our customers actually play, with gameplay from creators who cover them:
- Ghosts of Tabor, VR's answer to Escape from Tarkov. Extraction, loot, permadeath stakes. Watch Quest 3 gameplay.
- Contractors Showdown, the first VR battle royale that holds together. Watch gameplay.
- Breachers, tight 5v5 round-based tactical shooting. Watch gameplay.
- Pavlov, nine years old and still the biggest sandbox in VR shooting, with community maps for days. Watch Quest 3 gameplay.
- Onward, the milsim. Slow, tense, unforgiving, and the single best argument for owning a gunstock. Watch gameplay.
What not to buy this year
Don't promise anyone a Steam Frame for Christmas. Valve's new headset launched on 14 September 2026 at $1,059 for the 256GB kit and $1,299 for 1TB, but it's being allocated through a randomised reservation system rather than ordinary preorders and the power supply is a separate $29. Getting one in a specific person's hands by a specific date is not something you can plan around right now. We're tracking it in our Steam Frame news post, and Steam Frame mounts are available to preorder on SPINE and The Asset when you're ready.
Don't buy a headset as a surprise unless you're certain. Meta raised prices on 19 April 2026 Quest 3S now starts at $349.99 for 128GB, the 256GB model is $449.99, and the 512GB Quest 3 is $599.99 (Meta's own announcement). At those numbers a headset is a family decision, not a stocking surprise.
Don't buy "universal" controller mounts. There is no such thing. Controller shapes differ between Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, Index and PSVR2, and a mount that claims to fit all of them fits none of them well. Buy for the headset they actually own.

Order early and a note on the last-minute option
Gunstocks are made to order with your headset selection, so the further ahead of the holidays you order, the less you're relying on carrier estimates in the busiest shipping weeks of the year. If you're reading this in December and running out of runway, the Olen VR gift card delivers instantly in $25, $50 and $100 denominations and lets them choose their own headset option which, given everything above, is not a cop-out. It's arguably the safest VR gift there is.

Shop all VR giftsFrequently asked questions
What is the best VR gift under $50?
The Asset Solo Edition at $24.99 is the best value under $50, because it's a complete single-hand gunstock rather than an accessory that needs something else to be useful. If they already own a stock, a set of replacement controller mounts at $21.99 or a two-point sling at $16.99 are the most-used gifts in that range.
Do I really need to know which headset they have?
For anything that attaches to the controllers, yes. Controller mounts are cut for a specific controller shape, so a Quest 3 mount will not hold Quest 3S controllers. Headset-agnostic gifts gift cards, charms, stands, audio are the safe option if you genuinely can't find out.
Do Olen VR gunstocks include the controller mounts?
Yes. Every Olen VR gunstock ships with the controller mounts for the headset you select at checkout, and they are not sold as a separate up-charged bundle, which is worth checking when you compare prices against other brands. Slings vary by product, so check the listing you are buying from.
Is a gunstock a good gift for someone who has never used one?
It's one of the better first upgrades, because the difference is immediate rather than gradual two-handed contact steadies aim in a way that no amount of practice with bare controllers replicates. Start them on a Solo Edition or a Starter Pack rather than a heavily modded rig, and point them at the setup videos on our YouTube channel.
Can I buy a VR gunstock for a Steam Frame?
Steam Frame mounts are available to preorder on SPINE and The Asset. The headset itself launched on 14 September 2026 through a randomized reservation system, so availability of the headset is the limiting factor rather than the stock.
What's the best VR gift for someone who already owns a gunstock?
Upgrade what they have instead of duplicating it. MOD Armory add-ons work across Asset builds: the FTJ foregrip at $84, the CRIG harness at $37.99 and the VCTR buttstock at $23.99 and a weapon charm from $4 is the cheapest gift in this guide that people actually keep on the rig.
